2022 is finally here. New Year, new goals. New me?
For the previous 10 years of my life, I have always had some sort of exams going on. Whether that be in school, uni or even professional exams. I am glad to say that I am finally free of the shackles of exams, as I passed my final accountancy exam last month.
This may seem like a small thing, but to me, it’s a big thing. I have always felt that exams held me back from doing ‘other’ things. More reading, exploring, learning and more. For me, exams have always been something that I had to put my life on hold for.
Well, now that’s not the case. I can’t use that excuse anymore.
However, it’s easy for me to sit here and say I am going to do x, y and z, but actually doing these things is another thing all together.
Life isn’t that simple. There will also be something going on. Now that exams are finished, does that mean I’ll have loads of free time for me to write more blog posts, more reading, more time spent in the gym? In reality, probably no. There will always be something that pops up.
What I’m trying to say is that in life, there will never be a ‘perfect time’. For years at uni, I always used to think let me get this job, and I’ll be set. Well, I got the job, and whilst I am truly grateful for the opportunities and experiences it has given me, it also comes with a load of baggage and things I don’t want to do, like exams.
I am writing this post today for accountability. No more excuses. Yes you don’t have exams, but whatever pops up this year, don’t that let stop you from doing the things you want to do.
There will never be a ‘perfect’ time. Just do it (please don’t sue me Nike).
Happy New Year!
